top 10 best online maths resources

#10 DESMOS

Desmos is an advanced graphing calculator that can be used to graph different functions. Desmos is a really fun application to use to see how different functions are plotted and how changing functions ever so slightly can have such varied graphs.

Also, you can use Desmos to check your answers to quadratic equations or simultaneous equations, as the application allows you to enter in equations and you can see visually where graphs intercept with each other or intercept with the x or y-axis.

#9 MYMATHS

MyMaths is an interactive maths learning tool that allows you to input your answers to questions and get feedback instantly. MyMaths is used by hundreds of schools across the UK, and it requires students to log into the website to use the resources they have available. Therefore it is only ideal to use if your school has its own unique login code so you can access the specific resources and questions your teacher recommends. It is definitely worth asking your teacher if MyMaths is available to students in your school as it makes learning a lot more fun and active!

#8 MATHS MADE EASY

Maths Made Easy is an educational website that provides free revision material that includes exam questions and explanation videos. There are also additional resources that are available to students on their online shop. These resources include flashcard notes and predicted maths exam papers. This website is great for teachers who want to find good resources to teach with and students who want some extra material to use for their revision and to get additional maths practice. Maths Made Easy also covers other subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics so it is a great place to go to get help and support for a range of subject areas.

#7 RAYSTAR STUDY

Raystar Study is a website created by Rayah Rahman as a university student with the hopes to help other students transform their grades as she did; she jumped from a grade E in her mocks to a grade A* in her final A level maths exam!

Raystar Study has free revision plans and guides with new products coming soon as well. I also recommend following Raystar Study on TikTok and Instagram as Rayah provides many tips and tricks on how to get the best possible grades in maths. Rayah herself has tried and tested many of the revision methods she speaks about on her social platforms!

#6 EASYA

EasyA is an app that was created to help students at the point of need. The purpose of the app is to allow the student to scan any questions they may be struggling with and then a super tutor or “genius” will explain how to solve the question.

These super tutors are highly intelligent university students who attend very prestigious UK universities such as the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge.

This app is perfect for anyone who wants to get immediate help as they come across challenging questions whilst studying. This app is a pay-as-you-go model, but there is also a monthly subscription option that supports Family Sharing.

#5 MATHS GENIE

Maths Genie is an incredibly useful website where you can find exam questions and solutions broken down by topic. Maths Genie also makes YouTube videos covering different maths topics.

If you want a place to find past paper exams and see a count down of when your exam starts, Maths Genie is the place to go! On the website, they have hundreds of past papers available for GCSE and A level students which are separated into exam boards so you can practice the type of exam you’ll be sitting. Also, there is a live count down of when the first GCSE maths exam will be and so it can either motivate you to get stuck into revision or perhaps it may paralyse you with fear! Either way, it can be used to make sure you are staying on track with your revision schedule and remind you that time is of the essence!

#4 PHYSICS AND MATHS TUTOR

Physics and Maths Tutor is a very popular website for science, maths, and social science revision. On this website, you can gain access to loads of revision materials including cheat sheets and past papers. The resources are also separated by the exam board so you can find the topics that you will be tested on in your specific exams.

Also, the best part is that all of these resources are completely free, so if you don’t have much money to spend on study material then I would highly recommend checking out the website.

#3 DR FROST MATHS

Dr Frost Maths is a fantastic maths website that provides great maths resources such as exam questions and maths lessons. This website is very popular amongst maths teachers, but it can also be used by students to conduct their own independent learning. Dr Frost Maths is a non-profit organisation however there are monthly and yearly school subscriptions to cover the cost of the development and maintenance of the website.

Dr Frost Maths is a self-titled website as Dr Frost is a real-life maths teacher who teaches in an all-boys grammar school in Southwest London. Dr Frost has won numerous awards for his efforts to increase the accessibility and quality of maths education across the world.

#2 KHAN ACADEMY

Khan academy is a non-profit organisation that has a mission to provide a free world-class education for anyone, anywhere. Khan academy produces many short educational YouTube videos as well as short lessons and questions sets on their website. Khan Academy requires you to register and have an account with them so that they can help personalise your learning and you can better construct a study plan. Khan Academy is also very interactive and there are loads of challenges you can attempt and mastery points you can earn overtime!

#1 MATHS MENTORSHIP

And now for the best one (in my opinion)! Maths mentorship is part of the MENTORSHIP STUDIO brand and it provides high-quality maths videos that are well structured. Each video starts by covering the basic theory and then moves on to some simple example questions before advancing to more complex exam-style questions. These videos are also accompanied by free notes that match the questions and aesthetic of the YouTube videos. These free notes can be found under the Free Notes tab.

However, it doesn’t stop there! In the Studio Shop, there are also additional resources available for purchase, such as practice questions for each maths topic, and all the questions are batched into three categories: easy, medium, and difficult. This allows students to ease their way into the topic and slowly build up their confidence to tackle the more difficult questions.

Maths mentorship also has an incredibly active and vibrant social media presence. Maths mentorship can be found on TikTok and Instagram where insightful and educational videos are posted.

SUMMARY

All of the online resources mentioned above are great! It is worthwhile checking them all out and seeing which format or material you find most useful for your learning. Being able to understand how you learn best and what revision resources and methods will help you achieve the highest grades is half the battle when it comes to studying! It is also a good idea to mix and match different resources as some websites might cover some topics in greater detail than others. However, if you are the type of person to just rely on one resource for everything then I would have to recommend maths mentorship (I know I’m being biased) as the quality, aesthetic, and depth of the resources are unmatched! That’s my opinion, but let me know yours in the comments!
